It provides a mix of high-speed fun and short sections of steep technical terrain. Vehicles should have high clearance to avoid any damage on the underside.

The trail allows one to see some cliff dwellings at the Honanki Heritage Site.

The route after the site is more challenging for the last 6-7 miles.

Diamondback Gulch OHV Trail

Diamondback Gulch OHV Trail is one of Sedona, Arizona’s most popular and technical OHV trails.

Regarded as moderately challenging, it is rugged and remote, with limited scenery, but people like it because of the steep, rocky hills along the pipeline.

The trail transitions with views of Bear Mountain and the Red Rock-Secret Wilderness.

Also called the “Greasy Spoon,” this trail is not great for someone who has never been off-roading as it takes proper judgment to make it through the trail safely,

but for the moderately experienced driver, this OHV trail is worth it. Vehicles must have high clearance; a 4WD is necessary for this trail.

Chiva Falls Trail

Located in the Coronado National Forest, the Chiva Falls Trail is an 8.5-mile out-and-back adventure that promises a thrilling experience for off-road enthusiasts.

If you have the time to complete the nearly 44-mile loop, I would definitely recommend the Montana Mountain Loop Trail.

The landscape and views were stunning. And much of the trail allows you to easily pull off, park, and wander the desert as you wish.

It was hard not to constantly stop with so many incredible sights along the trail just begging to be explored (and have their picture taken).

As the trail wound through the desert valley it slowly began to incline. It was clear that we were beginning our ascent of the Montana Mountain. The trail became tighter and hugged the edges of the mountain hills as we continued our drive upwards.

This portion of our ATV adventure was just as nerve-wracking as it was fun.

If you stopped paying attention for even a moment you could find yourself driving off the edge of the trail and down the side of the mountain.
